It is incorporated by reference into, and forms part of, SouthSync's Terms & Conditions. Capitalised terms used here have the meanings given to them in the Terms & Conditions. In the event of a conflict between the Terms & Conditions and this AUP, this AUP governs with respect to acceptable use of the Services.
1. Purpose
The Services are provided for lawful use by the Client and its Users. This AUP exists to keep the Network safe, reliable, and available for all SouthSync clients, and to ensure SouthSync's own compliance with South African law, including the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

3. Fair and Reasonable Resource Usage
Use of bandwidth, storage, and processing resources is subject to the limits specified in the applicable Service Order or price list. SouthSync monitors aggregate resource usage to protect Network performance for all clients and may take reasonable steps, including traffic shaping or prioritization, to manage congestion in a fair and non-discriminatory manner.
4. Security
The Client and its Users must take reasonable steps to secure their own devices, accounts, and networks, including keeping credentials confidential, applying security updates, and not circumventing SouthSync's security measures (such as firewalls or intrusion detection systems).

SouthSync will act reasonably and proportionately, and will where practical attempt to notify the Client before taking action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Network or other clients.
6. Changes to this AUP
